On June 21, the Gwinnett Place, Gwinnett Village, Lilburn and Evermore community improvement districts all received grants for transportation infrastructure improvements totaling 3 million dollars. The funds were awarded from the Georgia State Road and Tollway Authority’s (SRTA) 2012 Georgia Transportation Infrastructure Bank (GTIB) grants. The Evermore Community Improvement District is searching for a new executive director. Former Gwinnett Commission Chairman Wayne Hill has served as the interim executive director since October. Under Hill’s leadership, Evermore CID has approved a landscaping contract and agreed to several economic development initiatives. Hill has expressed he has no interest in assuming the role permanently.
