Gwinnett CIDs Win Out in Battle for Transportation Grants
On June 21, the Gwinnett Place, Gwinnett Village, Lilburn and Evermore community improvement districts all received grants for transportation infrastructure improvements totaling 3 million dollars. The funds were awarded from the Georgia State Road and Tollway Authority’s (SRTA) 2012 Georgia Transportation Infrastructure Bank (GTIB) grants. The Evermore Community Improvement District is searching for a new executive director. Former Gwinnett Commission Chairman Wayne Hill has served as the interim executive director since October. Under Hill’s leadership, Evermore CID has approved a landscaping contract and agreed to several economic development initiatives. Hill has expressed he has no interest in assuming the role permanently. Board members are in the process of trying to narrow 27 candidates down to 4 and conduct interviews within the next couple of weeks. ...
